Rt Hon Suella Braverman KC MP Home Secretary announced the updated CONTEST 2023 strategy, saying that “The terrorist threat to the UK is unrelenting and evolving. Since we last published CONTEST in 2018, we have seen nine declared terrorist attacks, and 39 disrupted attacks – averaging almost eight attempted attacks per year. It is also increasingly unpredictable, making it harder to detect and investigate.
