PSSA Newsletter - Issue 26

ISSUE 26  | NEWS – 1 – Flying start to 2020 and it’s full speed ahead for the rest of the year! 2020 got off to a flying start initially with a successful Intersec exhibition in Dubai, where almost 20 members were in attendance, making up the majority of the high security perimeter exhibitors at the event, we have come a long way in the last few years and it is starting to show. After Intersec we had our January Interact seminars, which were some of the best that we have seen, and my thanks go out to our speakers from University of Sheffield, CHC Global, Met Police, Dedrone and DiT, as well as our colleagues from the USA – Don Erikson and Rob Reiter from SIA, ASTM, Architect of the Capitol, Calspan test facility and everyone who took part in the discussion panels. It was great to see that even though we extended this event to two-days, we were still over-subscribed with attendance requests with levels being almost 30% higher than the previous event. The next Interact day is scheduled for the 1st July and I am hoping to be able continue with the high quality of presenters and a great networking night on the 30th, I would urge everyone interested in attending to book their space early as we do expect a large attendance again. We also had our AGM at the end of January, and I would like to welcome Dalton Marshall, Dave Rose, Matt White, Niall Griffin, Paul Bale and Thorsten Grunwald to the council alongside Mark Wood who has been re-elected. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Gavin Hepburn and Alastair Henman for their longstanding service on the council and have the opportunity to take a well- deserved rest!” Kind regards Paul Jeffrey NEWSLETTER ISSUE 26 Thanks to our newsletter sponsors, Highway Care!
