Full of Eastern Promise as PSSA heads to Dubai The PSSA’s growth continues and it’s well on the road to becoming a worldwide association! The first international link has been formed with Dubai based Intersec, where the association’s name and reputation can be promoted to nearly 30,000 visitors. Hostile Vehicle Mitigation and perimeter security is not just a UK issue, so the team at PSSA want to ensure quality and standards are met globally. This will not only promote British security businesses abroad but also mean that PSSA can be the face of quality, tested products in countries all over the world. Intersec is the leading trade fair for safety and security worldwide and a successful communication platform for the protection and security industry. It takes place once a year in Dubai (20 – 22 January 2019 – Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre) and shows a unique product offer in the areas of commercial security, information security, fire and rescue, safety, health, homeland security and surveillance. The PSSA (Perimeter Security Suppliers association) can confirm that the association will be exhibiting at the event for the first time. Paul Jeffrey Chairman PSSA said,“The Perimeter Security Suppliers Association (PSSA) are pleased to be supporting their international members at Intersec Dubai 19 and are proud to be associated with the world’s most prestigious security exhibition. PSSA members have the international hallmark of quality when it comes to hostile vehicle mitigation equipment and perimeter security and members include most of the key HVM brand suppliers from around the world.” It has been a great start to the new financial year for the Association as we have had a good influx of new member enquiries as well as good interest in the services that we can provide to the industry. We are expecting to announce a number of PSSA events in the next few weeks to hopefully include two Industry Days, CPD training course dates and a networking dinner (open to all members and associates). As part of our drive to raise awareness of the PSSA “brand” and the quality standards that it represents, we have managed to cement a working partnership with the exhibition organisers Messe Frankfurt and will be exhibiting for the first time at Intersec Dubai in January 2019. I know a number of members already attend the exhibition and I look forward to seeing many of you there. For Intersec 2020 we are hopeful of creating a PSSA member’s pavilion in the main Perimeter security hall and are investigating the availability of grant funding for the event. In addition, we may be granted an option for the Intersec exhibition in Saudi Arabia either in 2019 or more likely in 2020. Other exhibitions that PSSA will be attending are already in the pipeline, including the International Security Expo (London) in November 2018 and CT Expo (London) in March 2019 although a number of others are being approached. I am greatly looking forward to the next few months and hope to have more interesting developments to announce in the next newsletter. Rest assured that the PSSA Council Members are working hard to increase the PSSA worldwide exposure to the Association and its members.  Paul Jeffrey From the Chairman
