PSSA looking forward
Geoquip Worldwide hosted a well-attended Extraordinary
General Meeting of the PSSA last month (March). Under the
chairmanship of John Marshall (TSP), the meeting had been
convened to receive the recommendations of the Strategy
Working Group appointed at the 2015 AGM. Working Group
members were John Marshall, Simon Towers (external
consultant), Nigel Bullock (MD, Highway Care Ltd), Debbie
Heald (MD, Heald Ltd) and Rob Oliver (Secretary to the Council).
Simon Towers, principal author of “The Way Forward Prospectus”
commented, ”Putting the report together enabled me to talk to
a lot of members and key stakeholders. The CPNI, in particular,
have been very constructive with their advice and support. The
discussions at the EGM brought out a lot of points on what sort
of benefits and results the members want to see which can only
help us in developing the Association.”This newsletter contains
some of the key resolutions from the EGM.
SUBSCRIPTIONS FREEZE
The EGM agreed to freeze membership subscription scales for the
next membership year, commencing 1st July 2016. This means
that there has been no increase in top level subscriptions since the
formation of the PSSA in 2009
External Liaison
Priorities have been set for the PSSA in terms of its external liaison.
These include:
• A fully updated website – more effectively showcasingmembers and their
products.
• Re-establishing the Advisory Panel – with key users and specifiers.
• Developing the PSSA contacts database – and keeping inmore regular
contact with the wider industry.
• Consultative meetings – maintaining engagement with government,
its agencies and standards setting bodies to influence policy.
• Maintain and enhance partnerships with trade exhibition organisers.
• Workingmore closely with complementary trade associations and
professional groups.
