SAFECROWDS, the integrated security and counter terrorism specialist, has added the Side Slider 30 manually operated sliding bollard from Safety Flex to its range of HVM systems
The addition strengthens the SAFECROWDS partnership with Safety Flex Barriers and extends the choice of temporary, semi-permanent and permanent hostile vehicle mitigation solutions the company can provide, with a complete specification, design, supply, and installation service. With an in-house counter terrorism team, led by former CTSA, Jonathan Neal, delivering Threat Vulnerability & Risk Assessments and Vehicle Dynamics Assessments, the company advises clients on the most suitable HVM systems for their requirements to provide proportionate risk mitigation.
The Side Slider 30 adds to a varied range of permanent HVM solutions from SAFECROWDS and is ideal for a wide range of environments, from public realm and urban landscape projects, through to high security assets, leisure destinations, stadiums, and retail parks.
A cost-effective and versatile rated HVM system with ISO 22343-1:2023 certification, the Side Slider 30 is installed as one double unit, with single bollard testing. The system requires only extremely shallow foundations of just 250mm, resulting in reduced installation costs without the need to divert below ground utilities.
In addition to ease and speed of installation, the pedestrian permeable Side Slider 30 system also provides ease and speed of deployment, requiring no electrical connection, with entirely manual operation. This versatile solution enables authorised or emergency vehicle access, without the need for any special tools.
Slim and sleek, with a 316 stainless steel mitred shroud, the Side Slider 30 not only provides rated protection against vehicles of up to 7,200kg travelling at up to 48kph with penetration distances of less than one metre, it also offers an aesthetically pleasing HVM option. The bollards can be customised with one or two high-vis bands in a variety of colours and the system can be specified with a wide range of alternative lid and shroud materials and designs.
Jonathan Neal, Head of Counter Terrorism and Risk at SAFECROWDS comments:
“The Side Slider 30 is a great addition to our HVM range, because it provides a robust and permanent rated HVM system, while offering a versatile, attractive and low maintenance solution with ease of installation.
“It can be used as a standalone unit, or as part of a larger security layout, which means that it is scalable for virtually any environment.
“As Martyn’s Law continues to make its way through the parliamentary process, it is important for those whose premises may need to comply to consider practical, versatile solutions that will help them to mitigate risk. The Side Slider 30 will enable us to offer clients even more options.”
