Effectively protecting people and infrastructures with the new Betafence Publifor HVM temporary quick deployment barrier

Effectively protecting people and infrastructures with the new Betafence Publifor HVM temporary quick deployment barrier

11th May 2018 by Louise Carney

Betafence’s mobile barrier is ideal for any public event where there are large flows of people from sports events, concerts, outdoor festivities, airports and international train stations.

To help channel the flow of people and keep them safe in these areas, Betafence Publifor® HVM is a mobile, multi-purpose security barrier that can be quickly deployed for a high level of security, creating a secure cordon around sensitive locations i.e. perimeter check points and to help slow down vehicle speeds by way of a chicane.

Resistant to impact

The robust metal frame of the Publifor® HVM barrier is filled with concrete, sand or water. This mass provides the mobile barrier with exceptional robustness and guarantees a high level of protection. The unique tooth and pin mechanism ensures that the barrier stays upright in the event of significant impact. In addition, the large rubber bottom surface provides enhanced grip and therefore extreme firmness of the barrier seat.

The high impact strength of the Publifor® HVM barrier has been tested and approved to a classification of V / 7200 [N2A] /64/90:3.5. using 15 units linked together (please note, the test was conducted with concrete fill).

Rapidly deployable

Its fast installation is a unique feature of the Publifor® HVM barrier. In just one hour, 25 meters of Publifor® HVM elements can be installed. After positioning with a forklift, they are filled with concrete, sand or water and inserted with the steel pins. The elements have a flat surface on the impact side and an inclined surface on the protective side. The design flexibility of the system allows wedges to be easily formed to accommodate differences in level from road to paved foot paths etc.

Aesthetic structure

Depending on the level of risk or the specified use and application, an assembly using the Betafence fencing or polycarbonate panels can be incorporated to give an added anti climb element to the Publifor® HVM system, adding visual security and potential advertising space to the panels.

Additional fencing enhances the level of security and/or privacy, with a clean and robust appearance.
